When we want to be inspired, we know the usual places to find it. Speakers, blogs, podcasts, music, social media, YouTube videos, etc. are all great sources of inspiration to keep us on track and motivated. There are some other great sources to find inspiration, however, that you may find surprising. Here are several.
Where To Find Inspiration
Find Inspiration From Your Past
We usually look for inspiration from outside sources but you can find just as much inspiration from your own experiences and accomplishments. Think back to past successes that make you proud. Were you able to lose weight and get in shape in the past? Use that as health inspiration now. Did you attain a goal that seemed almost impossible? If you did it then, you can do it again.
Your Children
Find inspiration in your children. Have you ever really watch your children play and use their imagination? It is extremely joyful and inspiring. I know it reminds me of innocence and a life of fun and joy. My kids can generate happiness on a whim. Give them a box and they will turn that into a whole day of fun. When was the last time you were able to enjoy yourself as much as your kids? Let your kid’s play and laughter inspire you to enjoy life a little more and live in the moment.
Volunteering
Volunteering is a great way to find inspiration. Not only will your helping hand inspire others, but you’ll feel inspired as well. There is something special about human beings coming together and helping each other. Make it a habit to get out there and volunteer.
Sit and Do Nothing To Find Inspiration
Sometimes our greatest inspiration can come from doing absolutely nothing. Sit quietly each day for at least 15 minutes. Do not look at your phone, do not listen to music, do not watch TV, etc. Our day is so full of noise and information overload that it’s difficult to recognize inspiration if it falls into our lap. Sitting and doing nothing will create the peace and quiet necessary to make inspiration more accessible.
Create A Vision Board
A vision board is a great place to find inspiration on a daily basis. Put pictures, quotes, and anything else that visually represents what you most desire on a board or a wall in your home. Look at your vision board often and as you do, imagine how it feels to have these things already. Adding emotion to the images will superpower your inspiration and motivate you to make your desires a reality.
Journal
Find inspiration from your own thoughts and daily experiences. Many people are hit suddenly with ideas just from getting their thoughts down on paper. Pick yourself up a journal today and make it a habit to journal as much as you can.
Conclusion
You can find inspiration just about anywhere if you look. Try looking in your past, watching your children play, or volunteering. You can also sit and do absolutely nothing, create a vision board, or try journaling.
