When was the last time you could say that you had a very productive day? If you are reading this, probably a long time ago. If you want to accomplish your goals, meet deadlines, and produce at a high level consistently, you must have the skills and discipline to manage your time. Let’s be honest, today with the distractions of social media, the Internet, and other readily available media, it’s easy to use up a large portion of our day on time-wasters instead of getting things done. Today, I’m going to show you how to handle production killers and increase your daily productivity twofold so you can be more like the most successful people in the world.
Increase Your Daily Productivity with These 9 Tips
1- Manage Your Mood To Increase Daily Productivity
To operate at your peak performance, you must be in a positive mood. Get yourself in a proper mental state to help you succeed. Every morning try to do something that will get you pumped and motivated. Meditation and exercise are a couple of examples.
2 – Take Breaks
It’s important to take frequent breaks throughout the day. This will keep your mind sharp and allow you to refocus when necessary. It also reduces work fatigue and keeps you working at your peak. Get up and take a quick walk or stretch at least once per hour.
3 – Avoid Interruptions
After we are distracted, it takes time to get back into an efficient “production mode.” This can mean hours of additional wasted time, so do your best to avoid interruptions. Lock the door, go to the library, sit at the park. Do something that will keep you away from distractions.
4 – Get Organized
Another time-waster is looking for things when we need them. Get yourself organized and stay as organized as possible so that you can eliminate the hassle of getting things together. I like to get all of my paperwork and other materials ready for a task well in advanced. I have everything I need when I begin working.
5 – Prepare
Brian Tracy, respected and world-renowned motivational speaker and business coach, says every minute you spend in planning saves 10 minutes in execution. Spending just 10 minutes a day planning will save you hours by the end of the week. Not a bad payoff!
6 – Create a Priority List To Improve Daily Productivity
You have to be careful with to-do lists. The tasks can add up quickly and at the end of the day, if there are still things unchecked, you may feel unaccomplished. Take 2 or 3 things on your to-do list and add them to a separate priority list. No more than 3. Focus on this list instead of your long to-do list. If you finish your priorities, then you can add more for the day.
7 – Schedule Your Social Media/Internet Time
You’d be amazed at how much time you waste on social media and the Internet. Checking Facebook here and posting a tweet there can seriously detract from your daily productivity. Instead of checking your social media sites throughout the day, schedule a time. I recommend at the end of the day.
8 – Avoid Multitasking To Increase Daily Productivity
Multitasking takes up precious brain power. Our minds are not wired to operate at its highest level when we are engaged in multiple tasks at the same time. Instead, focus on one task at a time until completion. This will also help you avoid distraction.
9 – Do Your Important Tasks First
As your day progresses, your willpower and energy levels deplete. Do your important tasks first, so you’ll have enough energy and motivation to get them done.
Follow these tips, and I guarantee you’ll double your daily productivity.
