There are some great benefits to being single on Valentines day! You can use this time to focus solely on you for instance. Take a class, work on self-improvement, or take a vacation anywhere you want. Make a list of all the benefits of being single. Being in a relationship has its benefits but so does being solo.
2 – Take Control of Your Own Happiness
If you are feeling sad and unhappy because you are single on Valentines Day, it’s time for a reality check. You must understand that you and only you are responsible for your own happiness. If you feel your happiness belongs in the hands of a partner, then I can promise you, there will be issues in your relationship when you do have one. Your partner should add to your happiness not create it.
3 – Be Your Own Valentine
Decide that you will pamper yourself on Valentines Day. Get yourself a gift, or do something that you’ve always wanted to do. If there is an outfit that you’ve been wanting to buy, or a game system you have been eyeing, have some self-control and wait until Valentines Day. This way, you have something to look forward to. Being alone on Valentines Day doesn’t mean you can’t get gifts!
4 – Attend a Singles Event or Plan Your Own
On Valentines Day there are tons of singles events going on. Surround yourself with people in the same situation instead of being alone. Be careful though, avoid the hate Valentines Day groups. Surrounding yourself with negativity will just feed into your own unhappiness. If you feel uncomfortable attending one of these events, plan a trip somewhere with your single friends. Go to dinner together or take a trip.

Being alone on Valentines Day can bring about feelings of unworthiness and sadness. To counter this, write down all the great qualities you have to offer. No attribute is too small. Focus on these qualities throughout the day. You should focus on these attributes every single day throughout the year as well. By doing so, you’ll see that you have a lot to offer and will make a great partner in a relationship.
Don’t beat yourself up if you are alone on Valentines Day. There is no reason to feel sad and depressed just because others are spending an outrageous amount of money on each other to show their love. You are single right now but that is okay. Work on you and learn to control your own happiness.
